Frequently Asked Questions

Who does ED affect?

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is typically a sensitive topic that can cause much embarrassment and distress, and has quite a large negative stigma.1

However ED affects many men, growing in prevalence with increasing age, with those aged 65+ at greater risk2,3. An estimated 40 to 50 per cent of all men over the age of 40 experience some degree of ED1,4, with many experiencing frequent or occasional erection difficulties.1

As the number of risk factors such as diabetes, heart and artery disease and obesity increase, the number of men with ED continues to grow.4 Studies indicate men who exercise regularly have a lower risk of ED.3

  • Stress or anxiety
  • Nerve damage
  • Alcohol, drug use, smoking and steroids
